The techniques of dyeing, using natural and chemical dyes are also explained.A typical day course would commence at 10am till 1pm with an hour's lunch break (usually spent "talking shop" or looking at the animals) resuming at 2pm till 5pm. Drinks are provided throughout the day, with visitors bringing their own packed lunch.

A tuition course can be booked by phone for either weekdays or weekends. Anyone making a long journey may prefer to divide the course over two days, staying at a local B&B in a nearby village, the market town of Newark or the cathedral city of Lincoln (Both nine miles from Spalford). By the end of the course most people feel confident that handspinning is a craft they will enjoy and wish to pursue. I will then be happy to advise on the basic equipment they will need and offer contacts who can supply the necessary items. |
